2022
Shed
- Manufacturing of a number of items for sale e.g. Ladder Golf Game Sets, rocking horses, wheel barrows, cutting boards, wine bottle holders, paper towel holders, small wooden storage boxes, mouse traps etc.
- Repairing bikes to sell — These are usually sold at the side of the Shed or on the local Buy, Swap, Sell facebook page.
- Kindling Splitter — a number of modifications being made to the original design. Complete in June ’22.
- Santas & Elfs – cutting out, sanding and primer painting these so the Mt Beauty Art Group can colour decorate. Stands will be made and the item offered for a display to businesses for six weeks around Christmas. A rental cost will be charged. It’s another fund raiser for the Shed.
Community
- Mt Beauty Secondary College — the making of Anklung Stand for Indonesian musical instruments.
- Mt Beauty Secondary College — the making of eight Cornhole Game Boards.
- Neighbourhood Centre — providing Shed space, tools and some labour for a contracted artist to prepare two murals for the Centre.
- Neighbourhood Centre — construction of cutting board cabinet for their kitchen.
Clients
- Glider Nest Boxes — construction of 25 boxes for the Trust for Nature organisation.
- Deer Guards — construction of four for the Friends of the Clover Arboretum and two for the Golf Club.
- Ski Rack – construction of a ski rack to house three pair of old skis to be displayed on a wall.
- Ramp Pump Spindles — modifying and repairing two.
- Shed does a number of small jobs throughout the year.

2021
Shed
- Shed Extension – Ongoing work to fit-out the internals i.e. office, storage room, compactus room, building a doorway between both sheds, insulation of walls and covering with plywood then staining, construction of stairs to mezzanine and handrail, installing safety railing on the mezzanine floor, electrical work, plumbing including installing a fire hose, construction & installation of a washbasin and bench, concreting the roller door entrance and paving under the verandah. Reorganising the Shed equipment and work areas in both Sheds. This work was completed mid-December 2021.
- Garage Sale — Held on 2nd January 2021 at the Shed. Very successful.
- Manufacture of an Electrical Kindling Splitter. This is 80% completed.
- Installation of a CCTV security system. In progress….

2020
Shed
- Shed Extension – Ongoing. Building and fitting out of the 12m x 9m extension. Building works started on 9th June 2020. Main construction finished by contractor in October.
- Repairing old bikes for resale has been done for a few years now. As of March, the Shed will no longer be doing this on a regular basis.
- Building ladder golf units, cutting boards, pot holders, mini-garden wooden wheelbarrows, wooden rocking horses, a display cart and some games for resale.
- Cutting kindling for resale. A shared project with the Hospital Opp Shop. A winter project.
- Kindle cutting machine — Modifying a piece of equipment (in progress).
- Storage Shed — Solar Panel and lights installation (2020/21).
- Renovation of a Trailer with a lockable Canopy for Football/Netball Gate activity (2020/21).
Community
- Women in the Shed Skills Program – Conducted 8 x 2-hour sessions. Done in conjunction with the Mt Beauty Neighbourhood Centre.
- Christmas Street Decorations — Erected and dismantled decoration for the last time after eight years doing it for the Chamber of Commerce.
- Neighbourhood Centre Project — In February started preparation of the area in front of the Centre for the installation of an extra garden shed, concrete ramp and fence . Concreting and erection of Garden Shed completed 17th June ’20 and fence started.
- Three flag poles — Manufacture and installation for the Tawonga Primary School commenced.
- Construction of a base support for an Eagle Chair for the Outdoor School Bogong.
Clients
- Bee Hives – Kenyon Top Bar style (4 large & 2 small made).
- Deer Guards manufactured and installed for the Friends of the Clover Arboretum.
2019
Shed
- Installation (at the north end of the Shed) of an original Eagle Chair from the Falls Creek Eagle Chairlift which was constructed in 1979 and replaced in 2018.
- Shed Extension – on-going work on preparing the foundations and stormwater drainage.
- Repairing old bikes for resale is ongoing.
- Building ladder golf units, cutting boards, pot holders, mini-garden wooden wheelbarrows and some games for resale.
- Erection of an external noticeboard at the north end of the Shed to display information about the Power Station ‘runners’.
- Cutting kindling for resale. A shared project with the Hospital Opp Shop.
- Modifying a piece of equipment into a kindle cutting machine.

- Hospital Opportunity Shop — ongoing repairs of items donated to the Shop for resale plus the construction of a bike rack for displaying bikes at the front of the Shop.
- Removal of rubbish from two local residents garages.
- Women in the Shed Skills Program – Conducted 8 x 2-hour sessions. Done in conjunction with the Mt Beauty Neighbourhood Centre.

- Shed Extension – west side. Plans are being drawn up, permits obtained and discussions with the NH Centre re land sharing is happening. This planning and permit approvals is nearing completion as of September 2018.

- Building extra ladder golf units for resale (20 units have been sold to date).
- Making small brass & wooden 40-year calendars for resale.
- Construction of an external cabinet to house the BBQ on the east side of the Shed.

- Reconditioning a Compressor for resale.
- Repairing a petrol driven drill for resale.
- Adapting a large donated tobacco rack to store all our steel/metal on the west side of the Shed.

- Hospital Opportunity Shop — ongoing repairs of items donated to the Shop for resale.
- Mt Beauty Art Group — repaired their display frames.
- Primary School — dismantling the old playground fort.
- Mt Beauty Music Festival — producing 20 guitar shapes to use for display purposes.
- Mount Beauty Neighbourhood Centre — Five men spent a day removing all the old tiles from the Centre’s kitchen. A huge job?
- Uniting Church Opportunity Shop — made some display cabinets.
- Hospital — refurbished a seat.
- Scouts/Cubs — conducted an evening instructional session to make a keyboard.
- Senior Citizens Clubrooms — Manufacture and installation of a bike rack.
- Pondage Walk — In conjunction with UKV Lions Club and AGL Energy the replacement of seating around the Pondage.

2017
Shed
- Installed a large dust collection/extraction system including building an external shed to house the Unit.
- Installed seven hi-bay lights.
- Air compressor is now housed outside the shed and can be operated from inside thus reducing noise.
- Installed a fly-wire door to the north end of the Shed.
- Work has started on the security gate and fence on the west side of the Shed.
- Planning has started on adding a verandah to the west side of the Shed (committee decided not to go ahead with this project but rather put funds into a Shed extension).
- Repaired old bikes for resale.
- Built another 10 ladder golf units for resale.
- Constructed a table bench for the Recreation Room.
Community
- Conducted 8 x 2-hour sessions as part of the Women in the Shed Skills Program. Done in conjunction with the Mt Beauty Neighbourhood Centre.
- Built a spinning wheel for the Hospital to be used at their Easter Fete.
- Refurbished a wooden table for the Kiewa Valley House.
- Refurbished a cupboard for the Anglecare Group.

- Building two compost bins from old pallets for the Neighbourhood Centre.

- Covering the Neighbourhood Centre’s Rose Garden Cafe outside area with shade cloth.
- Assisting community members to move furniture purchased at the Opp Shop.
- Working with Dederang Primary School to introduce students to woodworking skills.

2014
Bunk Building (a major project)
In September 2014 the Men’s Shed was contracted by the Bogong Outdoor Education Centre (now called the Outdoor School Bogong) to build 31 bunks. The Scout Hall was hired and outfitted with machinery, benches and tools and an enthusiastic group started the project under the direction of Ian Docking, Warwick Mitchell and Dick Puttyfoot. This was a good source of funds for the Shed which went towards outfitting the new Shed.
In 2017 the Outdoor School Bogong contracted the Shed to build another 12 bunks.
- December: Installation of the remaining 18 Bunks at the Bogong OEC.
- October: Installation of the first 13 bunks at the Bogong Outdoor Education Centre.
- May-Sept: Manning the Dederang/Mt Beauty Football & Netball gate.
- February: Evening supervision at the Sweet Valley Sounds Day.
- Dec ’13 – Jan ’14: Erecting & taking down of Christmas street decorations.
2013
- May-Sept: Manning the Dederang/Mt Beauty Football & Netball Club gate for home games.
- June: Refurbishment of the old Lions Club Storage Shed with assistance from the Alpine Shire.
Footy Season Fundraising — Selling raffle tickets (at the entrance gate) at the Dederang/Mount Beauty Football & Netball Club’s nine home games in 2016. We also collect the Club’s gate entry for them. Winners have the option of a trailer load of wood or a Bunnings sales voucher worth $100.00 . This is the Shed’s major fundraising activity for the year.
